Ms. Naimah Bukenya

Legal Officer - Kampala

Bukenya Naimah is a Legal Officer at Platform for Labour Action (PLA) and an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda. She has 5 years’ experience in providing legal aid to vulnerable clients in the areas of torture, human trafficking, pre-trial detention, international justice and vulnerable and marginalized workers.

She has expertise in educating various categories of PLA target groups on understanding the law and adhering to it. Naimah has a one year experience in conducting pre-departure awareness raising for Ugandan workers preparing to work abroad.

Naimah holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from Northeastern University School of Law,   a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC). Previously, she held the position of Assistant Program Officer – Access to Justice at Avocats Sans Frontieres (ASF).  She speaks three languages Luganda, Swahili, and English.
